Our department offers or sponsors several scholarships around an array of criteria to enable more opportunities and more experiences to be available to our students. Arizona in Paris (study abroad)
The French Faculty in the Department of French and Italian are pleased to announce the call for applications for the competitive Arizona in Paris Award 2022. Established in 2018, this award supports UA students enrolled in French courses with the UA study abroad program in Paris, France. While preference is given to UA French majors, all students enrolled in a French course (prefix FREN) are eligible to apply.

- acceptance to the UA Study Abroad Program “Arizona in Paris”
- enrollment in a French course (FREN prefix) in Paris, France
- current UA student (undergraduate)
Preferred qualifications - UA French major in good standing

SILLC Global Award Fund
The competitive SILLC Global Award Fund benefits UA undergraduate students in good standing who are declared majors in any of the SILLC disciplines. Recipients must use the award the summer, fall, and/or spring immediately following date of the award.
Value of Scholarship: $1,500.00 - $5,000.00
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a UA undergraduate student.
- Must be a declared major in any of the following SILLC disciplines (minors are not eligible):
- Africana Studies
- Classics (Classical Civilization, Greek, or Latin)
- East Asian Studies (Includes Japanese and Chinese)
- French and Francophone Studies
- German Studies
- Italian Studies
- Religious Studies
- Russian and Slavic Studies
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- No less than one academic year in residency left at UA before graduation at time of application.

Institut Pasteur
The Pasteur Foundation Undergraduate Summer Internship Program provides U.S. students who have completed their third year of undergraduate study with the opportunity to conduct summer research at the Institut Pasteur. The Foundation’s goal is to encourage students in the pursuit of a scientific career by providing international laboratory experience.
During the internships, interns will carry out research supervised by a lab mentor. Interns receive a $6,500 stipend to cover living, travel and housing costs.

The African Flagship Languages Initiative (AFLI) offers Boren Fellowships applicants the opportunity for intensive language study through domestic and overseas language programs in Akan/Twi, French, Portuguese, Swahili, Wolof, or Zulu.
